Reggae Fest Chicago
2023

The 2016 Reggae Fest Chicago One Day One Love concert was a preview of great things to come. In 2016 event producers struggled to secure permits, approvals, and a location for Reggae Fest Chicago. The event was originally planned to take place on a Chicago beach for 3 days, then due to permitting issues, had to switch locations multiple times throughout the planning process to finally find a park in which all necessary approvals and permits could be secured. The event ended up as a one day concert in Adams Medill Park in 2016, which was not ideal, and producers knew that Adams Medill park could not be its permanent location because of plans for a field house being built there.

Reggae Fest Chicago producers hope to bring the event back in 2023! AND we hope to find a local beach / permanent park district location! We are recruiting ideal sponsors and working towards curating an extraordinary reggae music festival with the best in contemporary reggae, ska, reggaeton,  Caribbean dance hall, and world music. All positive vibrations!

The 2023 Reggae Fest Chicago will also include local food vendors, beer, wine, and liquor sponsors, kids and family activities, live art making, handmade artisan and free trade vendors – all with an emphasis on Caribbean style and flavor.  A percentage of event proceeds will benefit local non-profits TBA.

Reggae Fest Chicago is co-produced by Optimum Events LLC and Subterranean. Other successful Chicago events produced by members of this team include Do Division Street Fest, West Fest Chicago, Wicker Park Fest, Pilsen Food Truck Social, and Logan Square Social.
